Rabbi Berel Wein
Mr. Zev Wolfson z
There are people who do not fit into any preconceived pattern. They operate outside the ordinary confines of the usual and the accepted. Because of this, they escape easy definition and pat description. They dare when others doubt and are resilient in the face of disappointments, tragedies, and seeming failures. They see life as a mission and not merely as an experience.
My friend, supporter, goad, antagonist and partner to many a difference of opinion, Mr. Zev Wolfson zâ€l, passed away this past week. He was a unique person cut in the mold that I have described above. He was a person whose entire being and life was dedicated to a mission - the rebuilding of Torah, the Jewish people and the strengthening of Eretz Yisroel by any means that he could muster and employ. The great Rav Aharon Kotler ztâ€l guaranteed him financial success as long as he would remain true to that mission, and Zev Wolfson never wavered from the difficulties of fulfilling that mission.
